This authentic Kazak rug, originating from Afghanistan, is a vibrant example of traditional textile craftsmanship. Made with hand-carded wool for the pile and a cotton warp, it boasts a notable density of approximately 100,000-150,000 knots per square meter and a thickness of 1.1 cm, ensuring durability and a pleasant texture.
The design is typically Kazak, featuring a bold sky blue field that serves as a backdrop for two impressive central geometric medallions. These medallions are outlined in shades of deep red and cream, with dark blue details and touches of yellow adding depth. The pattern is enriched with numerous star-like elements and tribal symbols scattered throughout the field and along the borders.
The borders display a rich succession of motifs, including small crosses and stylized flowers, which beautifully frame the rug. The combination of vivid blue, vibrant red, and warm cream creates an eye-catching contrast. The presence of a slight abrash (color variation) lends a unique character and unmistakable authenticity, typical of hand-knotted rugs made with natural or semi-natural dyes.
Ideal for adding a touch of warmth and history to any setting, this Kazak rug is not just a furnishing item, but a piece of Afghan culture, capable of transforming the atmosphere of a room with its energy and timeless charm.
