This magnificent Tabriz rug, originating from Persia, embodies the excellence of Oriental weaving art. Crafted with hand-carded wool on a cotton warp, it boasts a density of 160,000-200,000 knots per square meter, ensuring meticulous workmanship and lasting beauty.
The design is dominated by an elaborate central medallion with pendants, set against an intense red field. The corner spandrels, mirroring the medallion motif, are in ivory, creating a striking contrast. The entire rug is enriched with an all-over design of palmettes, vines, and stylized flowers, arranged harmoniously. The border, also richly decorated, completes the piece with floral and geometric motifs on a dark blue background.
The combination of vibrant red, deep blue, and cream/ivory accents lends the rug a regal and sophisticated atmosphere. The slight color variations (abrash), typical of hand-dyed wool, give authenticity and unique character to this piece, making it an ideal item to enrich both classic and contemporary interiors with a touch of Persian history and culture.
