This captivating Kazak rug, originating from Afghanistan, embodies the richness and tradition of weaving art. Crafted with hand-carded wool on a cotton warp, it boasts exceptional robustness and durability, evidenced by its density of 100,000-150,000 knots per square meter and a thickness of 1.1 cm.
The central field is dominated by a lively sky blue, enhanced by a large central octagonal medallion and two smaller medallions symmetrically positioned above and below. These elements are surrounded by a myriad of minor geometric motifs, such as stars, small diamonds, and abstract shapes, creating a dynamic all-over design. The color palette includes warm shades of beige, dark brown, touches of terracotta, and sage green, which blend harmoniously to create a balanced and captivating visual effect. The abrash, or slight color variation due to hand-dyeing, adds a touch of authenticity and character.
The outer border is a masterpiece in itself, featuring a series of cartouches and stylized rosettes on a beige background, enclosed between thin bands. Every detail is a nod to tribal craftsmanship, imbuing the rug with an aura of history and authenticity. This rug is ideal for adding a touch of color and a warm atmosphere to any room, from the living area to the bedroom, perfectly integrating into both classic and contemporary decor.
