This magnificent Tabriz rug is an authentic expression of ancient Persian textile art. Hailing from the renowned city of Tabriz, known for its centuries-old tradition in producing high-quality rugs, this piece has been expertly hand-knotted using fine hand-carded wool, with a cotton warp, ensuring durability and an extraordinary softness to the touch.
The rug features a classic central medallion, richly decorated with stylized floral motifs, standing out against an intense ruby red field. The medallion is surrounded by elaborate designs in midnight blue and creamy beige, enriched with touches of golden yellow and burnt orange, creating a captivating visual contrast. The entire field displays an all-over design of arabesques, palmettes, rosettes, and vine leaves, extending harmoniously to the borders. The multiple, well-defined borders frame the field with additional floral and geometric patterns, accentuating the overall complexity and elegance of the rug. Slight color variations, known as 'abrash', may be observed, testifying to the authenticity and natural dyeing process of the yarns.
With a density of approximately 160,000-200,000 knots/sqm and a thickness of 1, this Tabriz demonstrates the high precision and dedication of its artisans. Each knot tells a story of tradition and patience, making this rug not just a piece of furniture, but a true investment over time. Its robustness and the quality of its materials ensure it will last for generations, preserving its charm. It is ideal for enriching living rooms, studies, or bedrooms, providing warmth and an atmosphere of oriental luxury.
