This magnificent Tabriz rug, originating from Persia, embodies the elegance and richness of oriental textile art. It's a piece that captures attention with its meticulous execution and vibrant colors.
The design is dominated by a multi-lobed central medallion, standing out against the crimson red field. The medallion is richly decorated with stylized floral motifs, including palmettes and meandering vines, in shades of cream, blue, orange, and light green. The main field is densely adorned with an all-over design of flowers and leaves that expands harmoniously, surrounded by an elegant olive green inner border.
The multiple borders, the main one being a deep navy blue, are also decorated with a succession of rosettes, blossoms, and minute geometric patterns, beautifully framing the rug and adding depth to the composition. The choice of colors, from the intense red of the field to the navy blue of the borders, passing through delicate shades of cream, green, and orange, creates a captivating visual contrast.
Made with hand-carded wool, this rug offers a soft yet durable texture. The cotton warp ensures stability and longevity. With a density ranging from 160,000 to 200,000 knots per square meter and a thickness of 1, it represents an example of fine Persian craftsmanship, promising to be a lasting and aesthetically valuable investment for any setting.
