This magnificent Tabriz rug, originating from the renowned region of Persia, is a textile masterpiece embodying the richness and complexity of classical Persian design. Crafted with hand-carded wool on a cotton warp, it boasts a remarkable density of 160,000-200,000 knots/sqm, a testament to its exceptional craftsmanship and attention to detail. The thickness of 1 ensures a substantial and comfortable presence.
The central field is dominated by a vibrant red color, a classic in Tabriz productions, creating a warm and inviting background for the sophisticated floral design. A large, intricate polychrome medallion takes center stage, predominantly in navy blue and ivory, adorned with an abundance of stylized floral motifs, palmettes, and swirling vines that radiate outwards. The corners, or spandrels, echo the medallion's design, creating a harmonious visual balance.
The entire composition is framed by an elaborate system of borders. The main border is in a deep navy blue, decorated with floral cartouches and rosettes in a rhythmic sequence. Secondary borders, in red and ivory, further enrich the composition with minute floral patterns and refined details. The entire surface features an all-over design that, while rich, maintains impeccable readability and symmetry, typical of the Tabriz school. Each knot tells a story of tradition and artisan mastery, transforming this rug into a focal point for any classical or contemporary setting seeking a touch of timeless elegance.
